OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

“The Museum of Transylvanian Life” – Heritage Initiative Project, funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Government of Romania, aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the Central region by protecting and capitalizing the multi-ethnic cultural heritage of Covasna County, including the stimulation of local economy. To achieve this goal, the project sets itself the following immediate targets:

  • Restoration and conservation of the Kálnoky Castle in Micloşoara
  • Increasing and diversifying the cultural offer of Covasna County by arranging the Museum of Transylvanian Life in the Kálnoky Castle and opening it to the public
  • Actions to strengthen and diversify the professional capacity of local people in the Baraolt micro-region
  • Improving the situation of the Roma population in the Baraolt micro-region through involvement in rehabilitation activities of the Castle

Last but not least, the project offers a special opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between Romania and Norway, by developing exchanges of experience and promoting good practice models in the field of local entrepreneurship in the context of promoting the patrimony and the growth of the local economy.
